OVERVIEW

We were contacted by the team behind CopilotCoin to help design a mascot for their new finance platform. They had explored early concepts using AI-generated imagery, and my role was to refine those ideas and bring the character to life.

Meet McCoin — an interactive, expressive mascot designed to guide users through their finances. Built with Rive, McCoin is lightweight, web-friendly, and designed to feel alive through motion and interaction.

Character Design

Good design is a matter of clear communication. Our client came with AI-generated concepts and references from existing designs; from there, we were only a few steps away from finding the perfect combination.

Animation

After the design is approved, the next step is defining the animation system. We identify the number and type of animations needed, where they will appear in the product, and how they should behave whether looping, interactive, or triggered by user events. The animations are then created and prepared for implementation in Rive.

The final mascot combines character design, animation, and behaviour to create a playful and responsive presence inside the product. Built with Rive, the system is lightweight, interactive, and ready for real-time use.
